Our Mission
Investing in Education started with a vision: to be a non-for-profit organization that “incubates” educational programs that, once tested and evaluated at the local level, may be implemented nation wide through partnerships between governments and community organizations.
Manuel Félix
Board of Directors, Chair of Organizational Management
Manuel Félix is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of Investing in Education. He worked for six years with the World Bank Group where he held a variety of advisory positions and worked with the office of the Chief Economist. Manuel holds a Master's Degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago and a business degree from the ITESM-Monterrey.
Leigh Kitcher
Board of Directors, Chair of Financial Management
Leigh Kitcher is the Managing Director at Kitcher & Associates, a consulting firm aimed at improving the success of start-ups and nonprofit organizations. She provides advice on strategic planning, organizational management, marketing and fundraising to Investing in Education. Leigh has spent over 20 years as a business development executive working to build successful international and domestic firms with a focus on the telecommunications sector. She holds a Bachelor's in Mathematics from Mount Holyoke College.
Juancho Eekhout
Board of Directors, Chair of Fundraising
is currently Director for Development in the Mergers & Acquisitions team of Sempra Energy, a Fortune-500 energy company based in San Diego, California. Prior to that, Juancho worked for BP in various commercial leadership roles in the UK, Venezuela, Mexico, and the US. He holds a Master's Degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the Universidad Católica Andres Bello. He is co-author of the book “Mision Riqueza (www.misionriqueza.org)”.
